Kerns Roofing & Restoration was built from the ground up by Josh, starting out in the spare room and garage of his home with the support of his wife. Since then, he has worked tirelessly to grow the company into what it is today.

The dedication, hard work, and integrity that define the company all begin with Josh, and that commitment is reflected throughout the entire team. His leadership and work ethic have created a culture where those values continue to shape the way the company operates every day.

When he isn’t in the office, you can usually find Josh spending time with his lovely wife, adorable daughters, and sweet new puppy, Rosie. He also enjoys riding ATVs, traveling, and cooking out with friends and extended family.make if given the opportunity to build a company of his own.

General Manager 

Travis is a founding member of Kern's Roofing and the company’s very first employee. With more than 18 years of hands-on experience in general contracting and construction, he has played a pivotal role in growing Kern's Roofing into the trusted roofing and restoration leader it is today.

As General Manager, Travis oversees daily operations, consults across all departments, and drives the company’s future growth. He personally trains every new restoration specialist, teaching proper installation and inspection techniques along with the highest standards of workmanship. Travis is also deeply involved in helping customers navigate the insurance claim process — offering clear guidance and strong advocacy from initial inspection through final approval.

Despite his leadership responsibilities, Travis still makes time for what he loves most: working in the field. Whether inspecting properties, educating customers, or tackling complex projects, he leads by example and sets the standard for work ethic across the entire team.

Travis holds multiple industry certifications, including CertainTeed vinyl siding, Owens Corning shingles, and several commercial roofing systems. As the most experienced member of the team, he brings unmatched technical expertise, integrity, and a relentless commitment to quality and continuous improvement to every job.

Production Manager 

He brings over 25 years of hands-on construction experience across multiple trades, including 10 years specializing in roofing. Starting his career as a union carpenter, Brian has worked his way through nearly every phase of construction, giving him a deep, practical understanding of how projects come together from start to finish. His background in carpentry, metal fabrication, and trade coordination allows him to approach roofing with a broader perspective that adds value on every job.

Brian began his journey with Kern's Roofing in interior work before moving into material logistics, where he ensured crews stayed efficient and well-supplied. Seeing an opportunity to improve operations, he helped build and lead the company’s repair division, developing it into a highly organized and dependable part of the business. His leadership and problem-solving ability naturally led him into his current role as Production Manager.

Today, Brian oversees all trades within the company, coordinating schedules, managing jobsite logistics, and ensuring materials are delivered accurately and on time. He is known for his top-notch troubleshooting ability and for handling real-time challenges that come up in the field. Whether it’s solving unexpected issues, keeping crews aligned, or making sure jobs stay on track, Brian plays a critical role in keeping operations running smoothly.

A dedicated company leader, Brian takes pride in doing whatever it takes to support his team and deliver consistent, high-quality results.

Restoration Specialist 

I joined Kern’s Roofing six years ago as a salesman and site manager. Prior to that, I spent 25 years in the HVAC industry, giving me extensive knowledge of everything that penetrates a roof. I’m thorough, confident, and always ready to help with any roofing or ventilation needs.

Restoration Specialist

I have 10+ years of roofing experience, specializing in ventilation and repair work. Certified heavy machinery operator through Local 310 Labor Union, and certified die casting machine operator.

2 years of sales experience.

At Kern’s Roofing, my role is to follow strong leadership while holding myself to the company’s standards—delivering 100% in customer service, quality, and overall satisfaction with passion and dedication.

Restoration Specialist 

With 7 years of experience in the roofing, siding, and gutters industry, Jordan is a Restoration Specialist at Kern's Roofing. He specializes in storm damage restoration and retail sales.

Known for his honest communication and attention to detail, Jordan guides clients through every step of the process — from initial inspection to final installation — turning stressful situations into smooth, positive experiences.

He is a BEI Certified Repairability Assessor with expertise in condition assessment and estimating.

Restoration Specialist

Brings over 15 years of hands-on experience in the trades to his role as a Restoration Consultant with Kern's Roofing and Restoration. With 14 years spent in residential and commercial electrical work, Streez developed a deep understanding of how buildings are built, how they function, and what it takes to bring them back to their best.

Now focused on roofing and restoration, he combines that technical foundation with a sharp knowledge of roofing systems and building codes — so clients aren’t just getting a repair, they’re getting a solution done right the first time.

Streez is known for making the restoration process straightforward and stress-free. Whether he’s walking a homeowner through their first claim or helping a commercial client navigate a major project, he brings the same energy: honest, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in getting the job done.

When he’s not on a job site, you’ll find Streez on the golf course chasing a better handicap, hitting the gym, or cranking up some Grateful Dead. At home, he’s happiest spending time with his family and his two Siberian Huskies, who keep life lively and entertaining.

He lives by the words of Jerry Garcia: “Once in a while you get shown the light in the strangest of places if you look at it right” — a reminder that the best solutions, like the best moments, often come from keeping an open mind and looking at things from a fresh angle.

Restoration Specialist

In his second year in the industry, Matt is passionate about educating his clients and keeping them informed, whether it's after serious storm damage or time for routine home maintenance. He is always learning, and keeping up to date on the products and materials that get the best result. At Kern's, he works one-on-one with the homeowner to determine what they need, and how to get it; navigating insurance claims to deliver top quality outcomes. A native Clevelander, Matt's known for his deep roots in the community and dedication to his clients. He believes you "do it right, or do it twice."

Restoration Specialist

With over two decades of sales experience, Michael Nicely is dedicated to helping homeowners customers receive everything they deserve for their homes, especially regarding roofing and exterior replacements. Retail or Insurance Claims, His personal mission is to ensure every client is fully satisfied and well-informed of their project.

With a strong foundation in the building trades, I bring a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to my role as a restoration specialist in the roofing and siding industry. I’m experienced in product identification, knowledgeable in building codes, and well-versed in general construction methods—skills that help ensure every project is handled accurately and efficiently from start to finish.

Before transitioning into restoration, I worked as a union ironworker, contributing to the construction of bridges and skyscrapers. That experience instilled a deep respect for craftsmanship, safety, and doing the job right the first time.

Today, I take pride in delivering a smooth, transparent experience for homeowners, focusing strongly on customer satisfaction. Whether assessing damage or guiding clients through the restoration process, I aim to make every project as stress-free and successful as possible.

Restoration Specialist

I take pride in dedicating my time to each customer and performing thorough, detailed inspections. I have been working in construction since the age of 15, and for the past eight years, I was a union ironworker. I hold certifications in welding, OSHA 30, scaffolding, rigging, crane signaling, and aerial lifts, along with several additional industry certifications.

At Kern’s Roofing, I serve as a roofing sales professional. My role is to ensure that every customer receives the quality, service, and results they deserve when it comes to their home—whether through an insurance claim or a retail project. We work with all insurance companies and take great pride in the work we deliver.

Production

Joined Kern's Roofing & Restoration with 10 years of experience in the construction industry. He plays a huge role in helping jobs run smoothly by transporting trailers to and from job sites and making sure materials are delivered where they need to be. In addition to his day-to-day responsibilities, Jason also helps maintain the company’s fleet of vehicles.

Outside of work, Jason is a dedicated family man who enjoys spending time with his loved ones. In his spare time, he enjoys demolition derbies, hunting, and helping his kids with their 4-H projects.

Production

Has been hauling for Kern's Roofing & Restoration since 2023. He started out as a material runner and worked his way up from the ground level, always believing in rolling up his sleeves and taking on the jobs others may shy away from.

With a background in both sales and construction, Matt understands what it takes to see a job through from start to finish. He strongly believes that success comes from teamwork and is always willing to lend a hand wherever needed. Known for being reliable and dependable, Matt takes pride in being present and ready to support the crew whenever called upon.

Outside of work, Matt enjoys riding his Harley, spending time with family, and hanging out with his pets.

Repairs

Head of the repair division at Kern's Roofing & Restoration. He joined the company two years ago with more than 20 years of experience in both interior and exterior carpentry. His strong attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, organization, delegation, and excellent customer service skills quickly helped him rise through the ranks into a leadership role.

For David, the best part of the job is seeing the finished project and knowing the customer is truly pleased with the results. He takes pride in helping ensure every repair is completed the right way and every customer has a positive experience from start to finish.

Family is everything to David, and spending time with them in their camper is his happy place. He is also an avid Cleveland sports fan — proudly cheering on the Browns, Guardians, and Cavs whenever he can.

Interior

Known as the team’s interior man, he has more than 19 years of experience in painting, drywall, and texture work. He takes pride in helping improve the appearance of homes and enjoys the opportunity to work all throughout the greater Cleveland area rather than being in the same place every day.

Dan has quite literally helped shape the company’s offices by knocking down walls and transforming open areas into functional new office spaces. His skill, creativity, and attention to detail have played a big role in improving both customer homes and the company’s own workspace.

Outside of work, Dan enjoys building motorcycles and applying his craftsmanship both on and off the job.
